Serving as the primary anchor of the first phase of Dimmit County’s recreational facility’s expansion goals, a rodeo arena and conference center was constructed to provide new facilities for hosting spectator showings and cater to government, business, family, & private events intended for county residents.  Considered to be one of the largest county facilities in Dimmit County, this facility consists of 65,800 sq. ft. of Arena Space designed for a total of 1,760 spectators plus a 18,650 sq. ft. Conference Center that functions as a local venue for various multi-functions & events.  During times of crisis, this facility also functions as an emergency shelter to service evacuees fleeing major/natural disasters that require lodging for animals and refugees in need of a temporary haven.  To ensure continuous operation during a major outage, this facility is serviced by a diesel powered emergency generator and provides a large commercial kitchen and showers.  This essential arena facility will serve in conjunction with the second phase Dimmit County Sports Complex scheduled for completion in fall of 2025 that will serve as a major expansion in recreational county amenities for hosting major upcoming county events.
