In-Demand & High-wage Career Education
Facing school district budget deficits and closures, a dire need to repurpose and rehabilitate an existing state-of-the-art elementary school campus was imperative. The conversion of the elementary school into a new Career & Technology Education (CTE) facility focuses on the district’s goal of preparing students for high-wage, high-skill, and in-demand careers and providing them with an industry-based certification upon graduation. This successful school rehabilitation consisted of converting the existing elementary school library into large labs for electrical, plumbing, & HVAC trades. The school cafeteria was modified to incorporate specialty equipment and ventilation gear for the welding labs. Multiple classrooms were altered to achieve an ideal classroom set up for cyber security & combat exchanges. The Cosmetology program includes a tailored classroom set up for multiple barber and manicure stations plus a dental hygienist lab while accounting for ADA accessibility. The completed school rehabilitation was designed with input and guidance from teachers with actual industry experience who established the absolute necessities for successful running a CTE program that includes Cosmetology w/ Dental Hygienist, Cyber Security, Welding, Electrical, Plumbing, & HVAC.
